LFD selling shirts to help save lives - WDBJ7
Dec 10, 2018WDBJ7) The Lynchburg Fire Department and the Fire Foundations are selling t-shirts and hoodies to benefit Centra’s breast cancer programs. The fundraiser benefits the Centra Foundation’s Mammograms Annually A Must, or MAAM, and the Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center Patient Support Program. The fire department says MAAM is a volunteer group that helps fund and organize free mammography screening and diagnostic treatment in the community. The Patient Support Program was designed to provide financial assistance and ensure patients have access to support services and therapies. The fire department says this is just another way for them to serve the community. "It’s a way that we can give back to the community at a time when we don’t normally see these folks when they’re in need," explained Lynchburg Deputy Fire Chief, Greg Wormser. "We are able to give back in a way that is not an emergency scene but for people that are really in need of some assistance." LFD says all contributions stay within Lynchburg and the surrounding community. You can pre-order your shirt now through September 7th. After that, shirts will be sold on a first-come basis while supplies last. To place an order, click here. ...
